A child’s education is about more than textbooks. It shapes how they understand truth, reality, identity, morality, authority, and even themselves. So when ideas about identity, gender, sexuality and reality enter the classroom, the question can not simply be “Is this progressive?” or “Is this inclusive?” Because protecting children also means being willing to examine the ideas, systems and influences shaping them even when the conversation is uncomfortable.
